APPLAUSE® PURESSENCE™ FABRIC

Product Category: Cellular Shades

Hunter Douglas has introduced another exclusive product — the first honeycomb shade made with real cotton. Puressence™ fabric is offered in Applause® honeycomb shades, targeted to the casual decorating style of young families. Puressence offers a woven-like appearance with nonwoven durability. It is also easy-to-clean and fade-resistant. Puressence comes in three neutral-toned colors in the ¾" pleat size (semi-opaque). Market testing has shown this fabric has strong appeal for the target audience of young families.

DESIGNTEX SHADES AND SCREENS COLLECTION

Product Category: Alternative Shading Product

Designtex’s Shades and Screens is a new collection of decorative textiles that combines a rich color palette and modern styling. Available in three widths and seven patterns, the Shades and Screen collection can be specified for their solar properties on windows or for interior applications such as privacy screens and interior space dividers. The fabric is knitted, not woven, for dimensional stability. As an added benefit, PVC-free options are available.

PROVENANCE® “CLASSIC” STYLE WOVEN WOODS SHADE

Product Category: Wood Blinds/Shadings

The new Provenance® “Classic” style woven woods shade follows classic Roman design by feeding off the face of the headrail rather than having a valance. A unique oval grommet allows easy cord operation from the front of the shade. Individual color-coordinated safety tassels protect children and pets. Motorization is also available. The “Classic” style is offered in all 65 Provenance SKUs of bamboo, wood, grasses and reeds with flat fabric opacity options. There are also 34 different edge banding choices.

COMFORTEX BLINDCRAFTER ADVERTISING ON WHEELS PROGRAM

Product Category: Merchandising

With the explosion of shop-at-home sales, Comfortex has enabled BlindCrafter dealers to capitalize on opportunity to turn their vehicle into a company billboard and traveling showroom. Comfortex launched the national Comfortex BlindCrafter Advertising on Wheels Program to help its BlindCrafter dealer network get the brand message out and increase sales. The BlindCrafter Advertising on Wheels Program has yielded a high response rate at the lowest possible CPM. With more and more time spent traveling in cars, exposure to vehicle advertising is at its highest awareness ever. Viewers of cars with fleet graphics have stated they developed a positive impression of the advertiser and were more impacted by the cars than by a billboard. BlindCrafters can customize the package to cover any vehicle make or model. A combination of bold words and elegant graphics make this vehicle wrap stand out in the crowd and get a positive message to an audience.

2005 HUNTER DOUGLAS HOLIDAY SALES EVENT

Just in time for the holidays, Hunter Douglas offered special rebate savings to consumers from October 1 to December 15, 2005 to drive incremental sales on a selection of its most popular and profitable products. The program included dealer-customizable magazine and newspaper print ads, postcards, radio and TV commercials as well as Internet banner ads and consumer Web site support. It also provided an advertising certificate, a poster and hang tags to support participating Hunter Douglas dealers.

HERITANCE® HARDWOOD SHUTTERS JOURNEYMAN

Product Category: Merchandising

This program has the most qualified instructors — the shutter professionals who teach the Journeyman course have over 80 years of experience working with shutters. Limited to 12 attendees per session, participants receive eight hours of hands-on installation training on $5,000 worth of shutter products in one day. Special installation tools are provided for use by the participants. The training provides a true-to-life installation experience including how to work through the most challenging shutter installations. Not only do participants learn shutter installation, they also learn how to repair shutters. The program debuted in March 2004, and since then, 450 installers have been trained in a total of 39 sessions across the country.
